About the project
Webby is for people who want a website but will never open a code editor. You pick a starting point — shop, cafe, portfolio, event, school or product launch — and say what you want in your own words, with photos or a link to a site you like. A hidden Claude Code builds it while the page updates next to the chat, and you switch the preview between PC, tablet and phone. Point & change lets you click any part of the page and say what to change; every edit is saved, so Undo and History can always take you back. Contact forms send messages to your email, a check runs before publishing and makes a link-preview picture, and one button puts the site on your own free Cloudflare Pages address, with your own domain if you have one. Under the hood it is an Electron app that installs Claude Code on first sign-in and runs it per website in a locked-down mode: only file and web tools, plus a small MCP server of my own that lets Claude screenshot the page on a phone screen and check its own work. Each website is a normal folder in Documents\Webby, a Code tab is there for anyone who wants it, a usage meter shows how much of the Claude plan has gone, and new versions install themselves from a public releases repository.
