About the project
My entry for RUN.world’s October Jam, theme Monster Mash. A man is turned into a monster in a city overrun by them, and the only way back to his wife and daughter is to reclaim what he lost — his eyes, his voice, his hands, his heart — one chapter and one boss at a time. It is a Diablo-style top-down fight with a painted, ink-outlined look: Rend, Pounce and Devour skills that cost Humanity, telegraphed boss attacks to read and dodge, a riposte, and three endings that depend on how human you stay. Built in Three.js inside RUN’s React starter, with Meshy-made characters, thirty voiced lines, CC0 sound effects, touch controls for phones and a Story difficulty. A bot that plays the game through its touch controls found and helped fix the worst bugs before players did, including a boss arena that sealed the player out.
