Paint the Dark

First-person horror where glowing paint is both your light and your weapon, with an original Blender industrial asset kit.

Actual gameplay: the paint gun lighting B1 with mint paint

About the project

A seven-room Godot horror prototype in a research facility with the power out. Four paints let the player light rooms, reveal invisible Hollows, slow them or drive them away. Light-sensitive doors and a survivor's blue trail make navigation part of the paint economy. The stylised industrial kit contains 11 original Blender assets: a paint gun, four canisters, cargo crate, generator, specimen case, optics console, door and sensor housing. The gun reservoir empties as ammunition is spent. Editable Blender scenes and game-ready GLBs are kept with the project. Automated gameplay and import checks total 80; the first human playtest is still pending.

Studio render of the eleven original B1 assets; gun and canisters enlarged for inspection

The asset render uses studio lighting for inspection. The playable floor remains dark until the player spends paint.
