Kuota

A tiny native Mac menu bar app that keeps my Claude plan usage in view: the five-hour session and the weekly limit.

Kuota: the Mac menu bar showing 13% and 99%, with its menu open listing the five-hour session, the weekly limit and their reset times

About the project

I wanted to see how much of my Claude plan was left without stopping to type /usage. Kuota sits in the menu bar as two numbers — the five-hour session and the weekly limit across all models — which turn orange at 70% and red at 90%. Its menu shows when each resets, the per-model weekly limit, a refresh, a link to the usage page and an Open at login switch. It is one Swift file built with swiftc and AppKit’s NSStatusItem, no package manager, signed with a stable certificate so macOS never asks for permission twice.
